This has been an awful winter and, as a Michigan native, I am allowed to say this. We just have not been able to have a break from the ice, snow and frigid temperatures. Even my children, lovers of sledding and snowman building, are sick of it.

So I decided it was time to begin planning for warmer temperatures and sunnier days. I absolutely love spring and look forward to it every year. Spring always begins with me working on my house and doing my 'fixer-upper' projects. Giving reason as to why my calendar is booked and reserved for March 14-16; the Battle Creek Home and Garden Show.

I love walking through all the vendors and getting ideas for my next big project. It always seems as though my house falls apart over the winter and needs a makeover. The exciting part is deciding which project goes first; new windows, painted walls, or that new fence I've wanted to put up since we moved in.

For anyone else ready for spring and looking forward to beginning those projects, the Home and Garden Show is going to be held at the Kellogg Arena; so be sure to mark your calendars too!
