Once again, this traditional festival of lights will return in all its splendor and beauty to delight visitors from both near and far. Colorful displays sparkle and shimmer along the Battle Creek River, and light the way along State Street every night throughout this festive event.
Families, individuals, and children of all ages stroll through the twinkling lights to experience the magic and beauty of the season. Laughter and singing are often heard as festival goers simply cannot resist getting into the holiday spirit. One of the most popular displays that attracts viewers year after year is the Twelve Days of Christmas located on the back lawn of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation.
In addition to fabulous visual displays, the International Lights Fest also brings special entertainment and unique attractions! Get ready for an activity packed holiday season with downtown games, music, and merriment. From horse-drawn wagon rides to crafts to bike races to singing competitions, there will be something to do for everyone at the Festival of Lights. All activities are free and family friendly.

Outfit your furry friend in Santa hats, ugly ties, holiday shades and bandanas for a pawsome photo. Images of men and women (and their families) in the military joining Santa for a photo is a memorable way to honor the service of loved ones during the holidays. Kids, families and friends can don PJ’s, matchy matchy if desired, for a Kodak moment with Santa at Lakeview Square Mall’s PJ party, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8. Pajama clad kids and adults can take pictures with Santa for a memorable holiday card or just for fun. Youngsters in jammies will receive a stocking ready for coloring on the spot or to take home, as well as an activity pad and reindeer hat, courtesy of Lakeview Square Mall. Remember that garish holiday sweater that you shoved in the back of the closet? Show off those threads at Lakeview Square Mall’s Ugly Sweater Night for a chance to be voted the UGLY sweater of the season. Gather friends and family for laughs and a group ugly sweater photo with Santa. The contest runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec.14. The winner will take home movie passes and restaurant gift cards, and all participants will receive an Ugly Sweater button. Contest rules apply. Both activities take place at Santa’s winter home in center court. While visiting Santa is free, professional, state-of-the-art digital photography packages are available to capture Santa visitation moments that will be treasured for years to come.
