The Cereal City Concert Band will be performing a couple of FREE concerts in August. On Sunday, August 18, 2019, they will be performing a “Lakeside Concert” on the lawn of the Gull Lake Kellogg Manor House, 3700 East Gull Lake Dr, Hickory Corners, starting at 3:00pm. Music will include big band, patriotic marches, and other crowd favorites. The band will also be performing on the Fantasy Forest Rustic Stage at Leila Arboretum, 928 W. Michigan Ave, Battle Creek on Thursday, August 22nd, at 7:00pm. This new stage is set amongst all the beautiful Fantasy Forest carved sculptures. These concerts are quickly becoming the band’s favorite of the year! Bring your lawn chairs, relax, and enjoy some fantastic music!
Leila Arboretum’s outdoor Fantasy Forest Rustic Stage will come alive again Thursday evenings this August with a series of four FREE concerts. These concerts will feature an exciting range of musical talents and audience interests. Each concert will run from 7:00-8:30pm and refreshments, soft drinks, and beer will be available for purchase. All proceeds will go to charity. Thursday, August 1st features “Barefoot Blonde” – a powerhouse female vocalist with a tight rock & roll back-up band. Charitable beneficiary is Sprout Urban Farms. Thursday, August 8th will feature “Bobby Holly and Sonny Holley’s Motown Band” – a “Chuck Berry” style rock & roll show with five back-up musicians. Charitable beneficiary is Kingman Museum of Natural History and Science. Thursday, August 15th features a popular country and western band, “Lipstick & Whiskey”. Charitable beneficiary is Leila Arboretum Society. Thursday, August 22nd will feature “Cereal City Concert Band” – a 50-member community band for over 30 years who performs big band, patriotic, and both traditional and contemporary band music. Charitable beneficiary is Leila Arboretum Society. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, sit back and enjoy these great musicians!
