Marshall’s Home Tour heads into it’s 54th year

Marshall’s 54th Annual Home Tour is less than a month away! Come on out and visit many historic homes and buildings. Each will take your breath away. Here are some features that may convince you to attend.

Tour 6 private residences
At the Marshall Home Tour, you will have the chance to tour 6 private residences. Each is a different historic style. These styles include Gothic Revival, Cottage, Queen Anne, Second Empire, Italianate, and Craftsman. All were built between the 1850s and the early 1900s.

Tour the Cronin house
The Cronin house was built for Jeremiah Cronin, who was a store owner in downtown Marshall. The house is an Italianate-style home built in 1873. It was the inspiration for the novel “The House with a Clock in Its Walls.”

Attend the Civil War Ball
The annual Civil War Ball is held every year on the Saturday during Home Tour. The Ball takes you back in time, as you can dress for the time period. The ball takes place on the Honolulu House grounds on Saturday, September 9 from 7-10pm.

Learn about Marshall history by touring Marshall museums
Tour Marshall’s seven museums and learn more about the town history, as well as the history of many other things. Museums include the Honolulu House, the GAR Hall, the American Museum of Magic, Capital Hill School, US Postal Service Museum, the Governor’s Mansion, and Walter’s Gasoline Museum.
