The Welcome Center isn’t only for tourists – the gift shop is for anyone who wants to bring home a little bit of Michigan. We’re located at 34 W. Jackson St., suite #1a. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, with Warming House hours 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 21 (stop by for Santa and free wagon rides).  These new items arrived just in time for holiday shopping.

Michigan kitchenware

You can find Battle Creek on this map that includes all of the Great Lakes. It’s been printed on plates, bowls and a serving tray. The map is bathymetric, which means it shows the depth of the lakes.

Beach bags

Bags always make a useful gift, and these have designs to declare your love for Michigan and the Great Lakes.

Lincoln cards

Abraham Lincoln was a skillful writer. Now you can share some of his quotations with cards featuring the A. Lincoln ArtPrize winner. Artist Richard Schlatter used thousands of pennies to create a portrait that is almost as tall as two Abraham Lincolns. You can see it in the Lincoln Room, at 32 W. Michigan Ave. It’s a quick walk from the Welcome Center.

Tony the Tigers

Take home your own Tony the Tiger. We have pillows and little stuffed animals. Each Tony has a smile and his signature red bandana. MittensCharitable Union takes old sweaters and turns them into new mittens. They’re warm and fuzzy and profits go back into helping the community.
