If you are looking for something to do this weekend, you are not going to have to look far! Battle Creek/Calhoun County will be buzzing with activities from Breakfast on the Farm at the Crandall Farms to Corks for Conservation at Binder Park Zoo. Here is a full list of events for you to consider.

Outdoor Movie – Friday, July 18

Start your weekend off by taking your kids to the Outdoor Movie in Mill Race Park downtown. This week’s feature is Dolphin Tale! The movie starts at dusk so bring your blankets or lawn chairs. Make it a picnic night for your family and bring snacks to munch on throughout the night.

Breakfast on the Farm – Saturday, July 19: 9am to 1pm 

Held at Crandall Farms in Battle Creek, Breakfast on the Farm is way to educate the public on farming and food production. There will be homemade breakfast from 9am to noon, farm tours and  This event is great for the whole family! It is put on in connection with chances to visit the animals.

Battle Through the Creek – Saturday, July 19: 11am to 2pm

This “Amazing Race” like challenge gives competitors the chance to win prizes and compete on teams with friends and family. Throughout the Battle Creek area, competitors will solve unique clues, analyze the best strategy and explore new opportunities in the city. If you see people running around on Saturday, this most likely what they are doing!

Marshall Main Street Blues Festival – Saturday, July 19: noon to 11pm

Downtown Marshall will be hosting their 11th annual Blues Festival on Main Street! There will be multiple great Blues acts throughout the day starting at 2pm with the headliner being Liz Mandeville. The beer tent will open at 12pm, there will be multiple food vendors, and many of the downtown shops will be open for you to explore.

Corks For Conservation – Saturday, July 19: 6pm to 10pm

What involves wine and a zoo?! Binder Park Zoo’s Corks for Conservation is Saturday night and features all Michigan wines.  The zoo will be open after-hours with live music, hors d'oeuvres, animal presentations, a silent auction and wine and beer from many Michigan based wineries and breweries. The proceeds help the conservation of endangered animals. You can have a great time while supporting a great cause!
