Every August, the fairgrounds fill up with families, farm animals, food and a Ferris wheel. The fair started in 1848, making it one of the oldest county fairs in Michigan.

But there’s more to fairgrounds than fried dough and lemonade (although we love those, too). Look for the small museum and renovated schoolhouse. Events happen throughout the year, including Marshall’s Merry Mile. The grounds are decked out in holiday decorations and you can wander through the winter wonderland.
