Have a tough time making decisions? Yeah, I sometimes do too. But in today's post, I talk all about what goes into choosing one aspect of your Senior Portraits: Your Locations!! The link is in my bio to being the process of thinking about which photographer you should use!
Pro Instagram tip: The top of a parking garage is an easy way to elevate your photos. Check out Battle Creek Parking on West Michigan Avenue, near McCamly Street. If you walk there, you don’t have to pay for the view of Battle Creek’s two tallest buildings, Heritage Tower and the Battle Creek Tower.
Across from the parking garage is Record Box, at 15 Carlyle St. The owners plan to open a brewery, shared work space and event space this fall. But outside, the building’s brickwork makes a classy, urban background for your photos.
After that, follow along the Battle Creek River.
You’re not going to get inside the Hart-Doyle-Inouye Federal Center, but the front of the building that was once part of Dr. Kellogg’s Sanitorium has some stunning pillars.
Another fun (and kind of weird) feature in downtown Battle Creek is a giant portrait of Abe Lincoln made out of pennies. It was a hit a ArtPrize, winning the public vote.
Historic Bridge Park
This park has five bridges that make great setpieces. Whether you want to add a pop of color with the big red bridge:
Or go moody with the tunnel bridge:
The arboretum looks good all year round. There are flowering trees in spring:
Or visit Fantasy Forest in summer:
And it’s the ideal fall setting:
Or use the rolling hills for sledding in winter, like they do at the annual Festivus:
