After the crisp fall weekend we had, it got me thinking about fall fun! September and October are always great weekends to be in West Michigan. The changing of the leaves and lots of events celebrating the season make this time of year so much fun. Here are four events/activities for you to enjoy in the Battle Creek area this year. Bonteboktoberfest: October 10

Binder Park Zoo

Two words... Craft Beer. Beer is something that Michigan has excelled in as of late. With so many great breweries in our area, Binder Park Zoo created Bonteboktoberfest. This beer tasting event is held in the zoo and features many Michigan based breweries. Attendees get to sample beer in a commemorative glass, listen to live music, compete in the Conservation Carousel Derby, and taste some great food. All proceeds of the event go to conservation efforts the zoo is involved in.

Tickets are $45 per person/pre-registered. Designated Driver tickets are $25.

Cranefest: October 10-11

Baker Sanctuary

Every fall, thousands of Sandhill Cranes descend on Big Marsh Lake in Baker Sanctuary. During its peak, the Michigan Audubon Society hosts Crane Fest to celebrate these beautiful creatures. During the festival, events run from noon to dusk, which include activities and vendors to entertain all during the wait for the cranes. The lar

gest amount of Sandhill Cranes is from 5pm until dusk. Last years count for October was over 9,400 cranes!

Fall into the Arts: October 16

Downtown Battle Creek

Going into its ninth year, Fall into the Arts is back again! This annual downtown Battle Creek event celebrates artists and the businesses that host them. Walk down Michigan Avenue and stop in participating businesses to view or buy art, mingle with friends, and enjoy complimentary drinks by many of the businesses. New this year is a people’s choice competition. The top two winners will receive cash prizes!

Fall is full of fun in Calhoun County, so do not miss out!
