The Battle Creek Christmas Parade kicks off the International Festival of Lights this Saturday, November 18! It also marks the beginning of the holiday season in downtown Battle Creek. The Festival of Lights is back better than ever, with almost every weekend full of fun activities for your families. Here are some highlights to each weekend coming up.  November 18 - Kick-off Weekend The Battle Creek Christmas Parade kicks off the season at 6pm. Stop by the Battle Creek Community Foundation for their Holiday Open House.

November 25 - Crafting in the Creek Come on out between 5 and 8pm to do some crafting in the Creek! Different crafters will be located in local businesses around downtown to help you make fun crafts you can take home.

December 2 - Downtown December Day Celebrate the holidays at Battle Creek Books for holiday book readings and other fun activities.

December 9 - Festive Games and Athletic Day Have some fun racing through Battle Creek! The Tinsel Toes 5k takes place at 5:30pm. After the race you can participate in free snow bike races and children races down Michigan Avenue. There will also be team trivia in one of the downtown businesses.

December 16 - Caroling in the Creek Day There will be local signing groups and choirs participating in a caroling contest! There will be prizes, refreshments and holiday entertainment. Not a caroler? Participate in the karaoke contest at one of the downtown businesses that is still to be determined.

Horse Drawn Wagon Rides will take place on Saturdays starting November 25 - December 16 from 6-8pm.

Downtown windows will be decorated for the Window Decorating Contest starting on November 18.
