Winter calls for comfort food. Eat your heart out at three food festivals in Battle Creek before spring returns: Que the Creek, Glizzy Fest, and The Big Cheese.

You can help declare the best grill master, the top dog, and the big cheese by voting for your favorite chefs.

Kellogg Arena provides the drinks, while live music keeps things rolling. Expect new vendors, new entertainment, and improved flow.

Que the Creek

3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 3

Barbecue is the theme of the first festival. There will be ribs, burnt ends, and pulled pork. Everyone has a unique way to cook and everyone has a special rub or secret sauce.

Glizzy Fest

3 to 7 p.m. Feb. 24

Glizzy is slang for hot dogs, so if you’re a fan of meat on a bun, then don’t miss this festival. Go beyond ketchup and mustard with toppings such as pulled pork and bacon. The two categories will be coney dog and fully loaded. The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will be making a special guest appearance.

The Big Cheese

3 to 7 p.m. April 20

Kellogg Arena will be heaven for any mac and cheese lovers. Vendors will cook up their best traditional or fully loaded creations. To get an idea of how chefs push the limits, one of last year’s winners was Sunrise Cafe: white cheddar cheese sauce and brisket burnt ends with diced tomatoes and parmesan cheese.
