The weather has been warmer, which means those ice cream cravings start again.  Here are some delicious ice cream parlors you should try this summer.

Station 66 – Battle Creek

A Battle Creek favorite, located off of M-66, Station 66 is a great place to get the award-winning Ashby's ice cream. They have classic flavors like moose tracks and blue moon, but they also offer specials like Michigan pothole, with thick “tar” fudge in chocolate ice cream with chunks of chocolate “asphalt.” While you are there, pick up some fresh produce or fried doughnuts (even better, check out sundaes that add fruit, berries and doughnuts).

True North – Battle Creek and Marshall

The main shop is in Marshall, with a satellite shop inside Continental Pastries & Deli in Battle Creek. While you can’t go wrong with a classic homemade vanilla, this ice cream shop also offer adult flavors, such as Honey Bourbon and Rum Chatta. The pick-three is a generous offering of three different flavors for $8. Or try the ice cream nachos.

Sprinkles Sugar Shack – Marshall

Sprinkles is an old-fashioned ice cream stand right across from the Marshall baseball fields. While they serve hand-scooped ice cream, it’s also the best place to get a Dole Whip.

D’nicio’s -- Battle Creek

If what you’re looking for is a sundae, then check out this Coney Island and ice cream parlor. While they serve great fries and burgers, the giant sundaes are where it’s at. The banana split is more than a meal in itself.

Frosty Dan’s -- Albion

Serving up ice cream to residents and college students since 1971, Frosty Dan’s is a family run shop that specializes in soft serve. Cool off with a slushie, or even better, order ice cream in your slushie. The popular suicide freeze mixes all of the slushie flavors together!
