Southern Swing makes it easier for big golf groups to book a trip – we’ll schedule the tee times, book the hotels and give advice on how to navigate the area.
Don’t worry about having too many people. Our Golf Coordinator Kelli Pash once had 40 in a group. So here’s some advice on planning the trip:
Where to golf
Binder Park Golf Course has 27 holes. Spread your tee times out over three different courses. And with a group that big, you’re bound to have beginners alongside experts. Binder Park is good for the newbies, while also giving some challenges for everyone else.
Where to eat
The Medalist Golf Club has a full kitchen that serves up steak, fish and burgers. The dining room spills out onto a large porch with tables that overlook the best of the golf course. Relax and eat after a game on this premiere course.
Where to drink
Downtown Battle Creek has a number of places to get unique brews and fancy cocktails. It’s the perfect place for a pub crawl. Start at the end of main street at Handmap Brewery, which serves original beers made here in Battle Creek (pizza, too). Then head down to New Holland Brewing Co., a powerhouse in Michigan breweries. New Holland has a nice beer garden, along with your next stop, Griffin Grill and Pub. Pick up a Guinness and some fish and chips. Finally, cap it off at the bar Cricket Club, which has the largest number of pours, but can also whip up a great cocktail.
