Anybodies Playground in Battle Creek
Any kid can play on this large play structure, designed to be accessible for wheelchairs. It’s at Bailey Park, where baseball games go all summer. There’s even a dog park for your furry friends.
Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek
The giraffes at Binder Park Zoo will eat lettuce leaves right out of your hand. It’s a cool opportunity to get a close-up of the unique animals. There’s more than animals at the zoo, though. Go for a carousel ride or ride a miniature train through the forest. There’s a small zipline course for little kids. And don’t miss Zoorassic Park, where the dinosaurs live.
Bridge Park in Battle Creek
This park is an outdoor museum, dedicated to old bridges. It’s a great place to play Pooh sticks, as well as explore nature by the river. A playground offers extra fun, and there are grills and picnic tables for lunch.
Flash Flood water park in Battle Creek
They might be too small for the big slides, but Full Blast has a jungle gym in shallow water for the little kids. They can cool off under sprays of water.
Grandma’s Toys and Treats in Marshall
This old-fashioned toy store is full of thoughtful toys. There’s a lot of the popular Melissa and Doug items, which specialize in making non-plastic things to play with. There are sections for crafts, stuffed animals, dolls, playing pretend and little towns.
Kids ‘n’ Stuff in Albion
Toddlers play hard, like it’s their job. At Kids ‘n’ Stuff, you can be sure that not only are they having fun, but they’re learning, too. The water tables are a big attraction, as is the wind tunnel wall – put scarves in a tube and then try to catch them as the scarves are blown out at the top.
Station 66 in Battle Creek
Let the kids run around as much as they want at this restaurant and market. The tables are outdoors, so there’s plenty of room. Dessert is the main attraction of Station 66, so save room for ice cream. In the fall, they have the best doughnuts and cider, along with a non-scary hayride.
