Downtown Battle Creek is a perfect pick for your pub crawl needs. If you want to practice for St. Patrick’s Day, then join the party on March 14.
Start at Cafe Rica at 3 p.m. Follow hidden clues that lead you to the next stop. Every location gives you a sticker for your Downtown Pub Crawl Passport. Complete your passport and you’ll be entered into a grand prize drawing. The first 50 participants will receive a free T-shirt.
Here’s more info on each of the stops:
Cafe Rica
It’s more than good coffee. Start your pub crawl with an espressotini – a decadent martini made with vodka, cream and espresso. Or keep it simple with a sparkling cava or old fashioned.
The Griffin
Get into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with a Guinness at this Irish pub. Nothing goes better with drinks than some deliciously greasy fried fish and chips.
New Holland Brewing
Try the new Juice Boost Space Machine, a riff on the popular Tangerine Space Machine. It’s a fruit fusion hazy IPA, as crisp as a spring day. If you’re hungry, don’t miss the famous pizza pinwheels.
The Cricket Club
The biggest selection of draft beer can be found in this old-world pub-like bar. The experienced bartenders also make cocktails. The food menu will be available, too, if you’re in the mood for nachos.
Handmap Brewing Co.
This cozy bar brews a wide variety of beer and seltzers. Rye of Sunshine is a hoppy IPA for spring, with grapefruit, citrus and slight spice. Gourmet pizza is also on the menu.
Gull Lake Distilling Co.
A lot of thought goes into the American comfort food served at Gull Lake Distilling. Share some jumbo wings or parmesan truffle fries. Cocktails range from pirate punch to martinis.
Uproot Market & Eatery
If you’ve got the munchies, then Uproot Market will have your back, with chocolate bars, chips, fresh fruit and more. They also offer soups and sandwiches – we recommend the egg salad or the butter chicken.
Brews and Beats Pedal Pub
Free for the day, hop a ride on the pedal pub, making a circuit through downtown Battle Creek.
