Schuler’s Restaurant and Pub Marshall
Marshall’s oldest restaurant celebrates December with a brunch buffet every Sunday. The full holiday spread includes breakfast and dinner items, including a prime rib carving station. It’s recommended you call ahead to reserve a space. The phone number is 269-781-0600.
Kitchen Proper Battle Creek
The menu changes with the season at Kitchen Proper, but you can always depend on Sunday brunch made from scratch. In November, the highlight was pumpkin pancakes with spiced caramel and toasted pecans. The chefs also get creative with brunch cocktails – starting from a list of mimosas.
Clara’s on the River Battle Creek
Clara’s on the River goes all out on Sundays. There’s no waiting for your French toast or biscuits and gravy at the buffet. Add sides such as bacon, sausage and cake (hey, you only live once). There’s also a mini-waffle bar and a chef who will custom-make an omelet right in front of you.
Grand River Brewery Marshall
It’s brunch all weekend at Grand River Brewery. Start your morning with a Bloody Mary Bar or bottomless mimosas or add some bourbon cream to your coffee. Ask about the specials. The omelets are always changing and the chefs are finding new things to do with bacon – like stuffing it into doughnuts.
Copper Athletic Club Marshall
Copper calls itself a sports bar, but every month they serve up a new Sunday brunch menu. November had Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast, sweet potato hash, a scrambled egg sandwich with prosciutto and more. In the bar tradition, there’s a full menu of brunch cocktails. If you can’t decide, try a flight of Bloody Marys or mimosas.
Territorial Brewing Co. Springfield
If you want a Beer-mosa from Territorial Brewing Co., you’ll have to wait until Dec. 17. That’s when they open in a new space at 1600 Avenue A. Regular hours will resume right away, and that includes Sunday brunches. Order the Schmidt, which is biscuits, gravy, bacon and eggs.
